This year we have bought it back to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a film we definitely cannot mention, based on the flavours of a chocolate bar we probably shouldn’t mention either. We took a base of Munich and Vienna malts, then layered it with a mix of specialty malts to create a rich wort that was then whirlpooled with cocoa husks to amplify the chocolate notes from the malts. Fermented with lager yeast and cold conditioned till we were left with a rich and smooth chocolate character. Vegan friendly.

A strong ale aged in port barrels for just shy of a year and a half. A hefty wort full of biscuity Munich malt, wheat and bready rye was fermented on a Belgian yeast strain which provides a pleasant fruity flavour. Its time in the port barrels has added a sweetness, as well as an alcoholic warmth, and an addition of Cascara - the dried form of the cherry that grows around coffee beans - adds subtle notes of raisin and rooibos tea.
