A smooth, full bodied, creamy session beer, well balanced and hoppy, with a light floral aroma. Decidedly moorish.
Dark black and red in colour, with a complex mixture of chocolate and roast flavours. The use of two different hops, gives the beer a complex feel and smooth finish.
A cornerstone of our range of real ales, this chestnut-coloured wonder is a mouthwatering example of a cask-conditioned bitter. Brewed using Maris Otter and Crystal malts together with locally grown Target and Goldings hops, Wye Valley Bitter has a delicate hoppy aroma leading on to a full malty flavour and ending in a crisp, clean bitter finish.
Dark, rich roasty flavours, medium body with a subtle bitterness and hints of sweetness.
We believe that the key to brewing a great strong beer is to make it well-balanced with a good use of hops making Otter Head easily drinkable. Whilst it has a distinctive barley wine, old ale character it remains light to drink with a malty, fruity and slightly sweet flavour with a long bittersweet aftertaste. The fruit and malt aroma sits well with the beer’s deep, luxurious red/brown colour. Hops: Challenger, Fuggles and Pilgrim.
