This isn’t your average bitter - the hops do more to this deep amber coloured beer than just provide bite. Any old hop can do that! We’ve selected some of the most aromatic and tangy hops from the other side of the pond to give this red a fresh hit that complements the caramel flavours of the malts that gives this beer its colour.
When the last of the hops have been harvested, the cables that held the weight of many hop bines are left punctuated by tufts of twine. Before our final night’s gathering in Upper Moutere, the same cables held decorative lights. Pilsner is a style that provides us space to showcase subtle hop varietals, and is perfect for punctuating more assertive beers, with a bright, light, but nonetheless charming profile.
