Old Rosie is the name given to our 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller, that still sits in our yard in Herefordshire. Strong, reliable and so loved by everyone in the Westons family, we named this cloudy cider in her honour. Made from a blend of old fashion varieties of pears, harvested from the few remaining pear orchards of rural Herefordshire. In late Autumn they are milled and pressed to extract their golden juice, which is then laid down over the winter months in 100 gallon oak vats. In the following Spring the perry maker taps and samples each vat and then, only when judged to be ready, does he rack it off into bottles or barrels.
