A classic Scottish Strong Ale. Surely one of the definitive examples of the Scotch ale style. Rich, dark malty flavour with a deceiving drinkability for its ABV. Also available as a permanent cask ale. Brewed with Optic malt and Roasted Barley and hopped with Challenger, Fuggles, and First Gold.
Bitter with a faint flowery aroma and a moderately fruity, malty taste. The finish is long but pleasantly bitter with some sweetness and dryness.
A traditional style of ale typical of the East of Scotland. A superb classic with a deep copper hue and light bronze creamy foam. 80/- is brewed using Belhaven yeast and allowed to ferment at a slightly higher temperature. This delivers satisfying malt flavours and layers of soft fruit with a toffee finish.
We've crafted the Proper IPA as a dedication to those that enjoy Proper IPA with treacle malt, high alpha hop flavour and a light bitter aftertaste. With it's intense citrus, spice and pine flavours balanced with our blend of toasted local malts, the beer gives you a depth of spicy aroma and a balanced fruity aftertaste.
A full-bodied, dark brown, strong ale. Slightly malty but with hints of roast coffee and liquorice. A smooth caramel overlay and a complex fruitiness leads to a bitter chocolate finish.
Pale Copper IPA - Intense citrus and piney aromas, tropical fruit then spicy flavours, lasting zesty mouth watering bitterness.
