Warming, malty and fruity. Pale and amber malts contribute to a mouth filling and satisfying 'Horlicks' and biscuity maltiness. Challenger and First Gold give a base note of herbal hop and Fuggle as a late hop contributes the main fragrant fruity and floral and spicy notes. Fermented slowly to give just enough fruity esters providing a complex, satisfying and warming experience.
A dark and more-ish Premium Bitter. One of our first ever beers and brewed with lots of Pale Malt for sweetness with the addition of Chocolate and Crystal Malt for body and colour. English hops, First Gold and Bramling Cross give a lovely spiciness and a beautiful bitterness.
Traditional amber session ale, flavoursome malt character and lively hoppy finish. A beer that will be talked about for generations.
A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.
A traditional style of ale typical of the East of Scotland. A superb classic with a deep copper hue and light bronze creamy foam. 80/- is brewed using Belhaven yeast and allowed to ferment at a slightly higher temperature. This delivers satisfying malt flavours and layers of soft fruit with a toffee finish.
A pale beer with a distinctively hoppy aroma. Despite its strength, this is a surprisingly smooth and easy drinking beer that has been brewed with pale malt and Fuggles and Goldings hops. Soft citrus fruits and zest in the flavour lead to a dry fruit finish.
The perfectly-paired combination of wheat malt and lager malt is our secret sauce for this 'Champagne of Lagers', providing an elegant head, luscious lacing and crisp palate. A lingering, fresh grapefruity finish from whole, pressed hop cones tops it off.
A copper ale with a beautiful, slight red haze, topped off with a white head. The aroma is rich and fruity, with a hint of blackcurrant. On the tongue, it’s a perfect balance of malty bitterness with notes of orange peel and grapefruit.
This pale ale has a good assertive pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. Brewed with Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours.
This IPA is dark, rich and classically bitter. An easy drinker, berry fruits and citrus notes sing through against a deliciously malty backbone.
A perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours. This creates an amber ale which is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.
An amber warming ale, with a dried fruit and a malty aroma.
