Using the fresh pressed juice from apples picked locally, our master cider makers ferment with champagne yeast and mature the cider for up to 6 months, before cold-filtering to create a 5% medium dry cider that’s full of flavour and character. Never from concentrate, never pasteurised.
Made with Herefordshire red apples, Inch's is a lightly sparkling cider with a fresh apple aroma. It is a medium apple cider which means every drop is crafted to be perfectly balanced between sweet and dry for great tasting refreshment. We make it using 100% British apples, grown within 40 miles from our Hereford mill.
We’ve kept this one safely stashed in our recipe locker since Davy Jones was first brewed in 2014. Ten years later we think it high time that this fine, strong, amber ale is rescued from the deep to feature in our 2024 cask aged list. Dark amber in colour with a robust malt backbone and suitably bold New World hop flavours.
We believe that the key to brewing a great strong beer is to make it well-balanced with a good use of hops making Otter Head easily drinkable. Whilst it has a distinctive barley wine, old ale character it remains light to drink with a malty, fruity and slightly sweet flavour with a long bittersweet aftertaste.
