This porter started out as a recipe based on one from the Barclay Perkins brewery from 1855. We’ve tempered the roast character of the original recipe with some chocolate and crystal malts, but the main difference is that this is hopped in the way we would hop our pale ales and IPAs – late kettle additions and dry hopping. The result is a dark brown beer that promises coffee and cocoa, but then the hops bring lightness, brightness and fruit. Please note the hops change and the ABV varies from batch to batch but is usually between 5.6-6.3%.
A sweet golden ale brewed with Maris otter, lager, and wheat malt. A balanced body with a refreshing sweetness is then blasted with Magnum, Chinook, and Citra hops, giving layers of citrus, grapefruit, and lemon.
We've taken our signature slick Triple Fruited Gose and doubled it by packing it full of blackberry, gooseberry and blueberry. Combining these fruits and heightened aroma and flavour profiles that even we weren’t expecting – the gentle spicy note from the blueberries with a hint of star anise on the nose and soft pepper on the finish. The gooseberries provide a sherbet tartness and zesty aroma, beautifully balanced with a decadent dark fruitiness from the blackberries. Collaboration with The Craft Channel to celebrate 10 years.
A hazy pale ale hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic and Chinook. Lush bouquet of tropical and citrus fruits, complemented by pine and herbal notes. The addition of flaked wheat and oats lends a smooth, creamy texture balancing the hop bitterness. Vegan friendly.
Brewed to an 1880 recipe from Simond's Brewery in Reading. The malt bill predates the common use of crystal malts (which hugely influence a modern bitter's flavour), so instead comprises of just pale ale malt (our regular Maris Otter being ideal for this purpose) and amber malt (a lightly toasted malt). Hopped with the English classic, Goldings. The lightly floral, earthy and spicy hop-aromas permeate the head and intensify in the mouth as they mix with the mild, sweet and chocolatey malt body of the beer. Expect flavours of marmalade, a touch of tea, a touch of warmth and a firm bitterness to balance. Perhaps in style closer to how we now consider an ESB or Burton Ale than a modern bitter.
This is our session strength Nitro Porter that takes inspiration from our flagship beer, The Porter. Creamy, smooth and truly sessionable. What better way to create an effortlessly drinkable dark beer than to brew it with nitro. The resulting creaminess and smooth mouthfeel balance perfectly with the subtle roasted notes of coffee and chocolate.
A light fruity Perry made from proper Perry Pears.
The distinct flavour and aroma of Dabinett cider apples really comes through producing a slightly sharp cider with a dry finish.
