An IPA with a bright intense bitterness that mellows out to a slightly fruity aftertaste.
Adapted from an imperial Russian porter recipe, this beer is incredibly smooth with burnt chocolate and smoky malt notes mixed with delicate hop bitterness and floral notes.
A strong dark mild, mild but not meek!!
Nano Cask is anything but boring, from the hugely aromatic yeast to the beautiful colour, and the refreshing bitterness. It's not brown either, much more orange, and pours with a beautiful, dense head. Sitting alongside those wonderful stone fruit yeast esters is a pretty chewy malt (yes, malt!) profile full of caramel and bready goodness. Crystal malt never went out of fashion for us, and help this demure 3.8% session bitter drink much more like a 5% winter warmer.
This beer has 3 light hops, including Simcoe, and a generous finish of Citra right at the end, leading to a light hoppy taste, and a lovely lingering finish.
