Breweries often used to hold back their extra special bitter for the Directors or Chairman, but we think everyone should enjoy the very best. Named in honour of John Lees, it's a colourful, well-balanced and full-bodied premium bitter, with a nutty finish. Our recipe makes use of ale and crystal malt, and Pilgrim and Golding hops. The result is a beer with nothing held back, fit for the good man himself.

A cask conditioned bitter boasting a distinctive golden colour brewed under licence by J.W. Lees. It pours with a luscious creamy head and offers a malty, moreish character with hints of caramel and toffee. The bitterness is gentle, balanced by a smooth body and finishes crisp and refreshing.

Manchester Pale Ale. A well-balanced, refreshing golden beer made entirely from all-British malt, Liberty, and Mount Hood hops. Vibrant citrus notes and fruity undertones complement its maltiness. With its distinctive tight, creamy head, it's a proper Manchester beer.

Our most popular and famous beer. JW Lees Bitter is an all-malt brew and sets the standard for Northern ales. One of the CAMRA guidebooks described it as an amber beer with malty and citrus fruit aftertaste. They approved and we hope you do too.

Rich and velvety, this iced coffee stout blends bold roasted coffee aromas with smooth chocolate undertones. Cold-brewed coffee infuses each sip with refreshing bitterness, balanced by creamy malt sweetness. Perfectly chilled, it delivers a crisp, invigorating finish that’s both indulgent and refreshing. Hops: Goldings.

More than a few craft lagers are named after the cities that created them, so we've added Manchester to that list using almost two centuries' worth of expertise on craft ale. We brew Manchester Craft Lager in small batches, giving it longer maturation to create a stronger, more flavoured lager that takes things up a notch or two.

This clean lager is brewed with 100% British grown ingredients. Light lager is straw coloured with a light citrus aroma and features a subtle hop bitterness and hints of tropical fruit and mandarin. Light provides endless refreshment and drinkability, making it the perfect choice.

A smooth, creamy, roasty, dark and brooding ale made with pride using the finest northern water. A slightly lower ABV then the cask version.

Our permanent Boilerhouse beer, perfect for all seasons. Perfectly balanced moderate bitterness, fresh fruit hops and pale ale malt.

Our Original Lager recipe, nice and simple for a crisp, light taste. Brewed using only British malts, we use plenty of Styrian and Saaz hops and no additives. This makes sure it’s got just the right enticing hoppiness and depth when it reaches the glass.
