Soft aroma - fruity, rounded, grassy, hints of marmalade. Followed by a full tangy, fruity, hop wallop on the palate, with some underpinning of malt and bitterness. More hops flavours in the finish, but zestier, more citrus, with a refreshing edge and pleasing bitterness. A refreshing pale ale with a satisfying, lasting finish.
Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer.
Brewed to the same recipe as Summer Loving but to a higher abv for more colour and flavour. Very sessionable with Mediterranean flavours.
